There are three basic actions of Cosmetic Acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation:

1. Enhances the natural glow of the face. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that natural beauty, or  "glow" on the face should come from the interior, rather than applied from the exterior, like make-up. The general state of the body and health therefore affect the outward appearance. Conditions like digestive discomfort and constipation, stress and emotional imbalances easily affect the appearance of the skin. Facial acupuncture combined with body acupuncture can address such conditions, aiding the natural glow and beauty of the skin, especially on the face.

2. Reduces and prevents wrinkles. Cosmetic acupuncture smooths wrinkles over the entire face: across the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes, beside the mouth and lips, even on the neck. It does this by stimulating collagen production, which invigorates the skin and fills in the wrinkles. Shallow wrinkles may completely disapper, and more pronounced wrinkles can become less pronounced. All ages can benefit from treatment, however, it is ideal to begin treatment in your thirties and forties (the age that wrinkles start to appear). But even clients in their seventies have seen results that include better skin tone and shallower wrinkles.

3. Tones the facial muscles and lifts the skin. Facial acupuncture helps to invigorate the force and tone of the facial muscles. These muscles attach to the skin, so when the muscles are toned the skin also lifts. That is why Cosmetic Acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation are also sometimes called non-surgical face lift (which costs 30 - 50 times as much as acupuncture, and comes with all the complications of surgery). Even after just one session, once muscular tone has increased, clients may notice drooping and sagging skin lifting and tightening up.

For better and longer lasting results, more frequent and regular treatment is best. One course of treatment is 10 sessions over 6 - 8 weeks, and regular maintenance sessions afterwards.
